Square Foot Gardening

Clark and I are putting in a new veggie garden in the back yard. We are following the new square foot gardening method. This garden requires a small fence around it to keep out the bunnies and our ol' yellow dog, Merritt. The fence posts are in! We are copying Alisha's idea of using pallet wood for the pickets. It will save a lot of money and it is environmentally friendly. The boxes are in and I am planting today! We plan to grow tomatoes, orange peppers, serrano peppers, green beans, herbs, cantaloupe, yellow squash, strawberries, sunflowers and cutting flowers. It should be a yummy summer!!!

Budding Photographer

Here are a few pictures Kendall snapped today. She is a budding photographer. My brother, Ken, bought her a nice point and shoot camera for Christmas, but she continues to pester me about her ability being superior to mine-especially if I would allow her to use my camera. But i still enjoy these pics, which happen to be taken with her camera.

My Gardens

Another beginning to a new garden - blogging. This is my online journal of the many gardens growing in my life: the front yard beds, a new small backyard vegetable garden, madison 3rd ward young women, and my family. Scattered throughout my house are quite a few different journals I keep about my gardens. I am sure one more won't hurt.
